To end it all ...

To end it all for 2014. A quickie post with some old classic pictures from The Fiend Folio and White Dwarf Magazine.

In Old School Gamers on Face book the excellent Mick Leach has been running a post about The Fiend Folio [TSR product of the day], and I thought this an excellent opportunity to post some related images from The Fiend Folio and White Dwarf Magazine. All thanks to Andy Action-Markham and his Facebook page about my stuff called 'Russ Nicholson (Artist) Fan Page' https://www.facebook.com/groups/RussNicholsonFanPage/?fref=ts ... I could never join, for obvious reasons, but am most grateful to Andy for creating it.

So onto the pictures, first from The Fiend Folio.

This is getting a wee bit long so let's call this part one..

For those who want the sources do check out the Face book Russ Nicholson (Artist) Fan Page where Andy has gone to a lot of trouble to source the original by date and publication.

  1. I have always loved the look of terror on the person being strangled by the meazel, and the one being picked up by the grell. Some of my favorite illustrations.

    Thanks for sharing!

  3. The Fiend Folio is one of those books that I credit for my decision to become an artist. The Kenku and Githzerai drawing were two of my favorite things. Actually getting to thank you, Russ, is like a dream. Thank you.

  4. Thanks for posting these, Russ. The githyanki and the grell pictures are two of my all time favourite D&D/RPG pieces of art. Great stuff! :)
