Happy New Year to all...

A very Quick post for today ... A couple of which you may have not seen [I think] some from the old Fiend Folio...and White Dwarf Magazine

This piece has been used without permission or my knowledge till recently to sell goods apparently
Next from Goodman Games art..

Mean to add some close ups later to this

Now a couple of sketches used for the artwork shown last year [grin].

Finally, cannot remember if I shown this before, but this was the very last piece of work that I was doing [slowly] for Games Workshop, which they never saw as it was unfinished and they decided to severe company we me. It only exists as a small jpeg but here it is.

 Happy 2016 to you all.

  1. That last piece is amazing! It's a shame that it no longer exists.

    Happy new year Russ!

  2. Happy New Year to you too. Those FF pieces are how I first encountered your work. I even colored some of them in . . . Being 9 or 10 it seemed like the best move. :)

  3. Happy new year Russ. I still recall the joy of reading those first Fighting Fantasy game books in the school library when I was eight. Your artwork continues to bring me joy. God bless you. May this year be one of good health and happiness for you.

A fantastic sample of your work. Whatever that wizard is summoning is truly bizarre.

  9. Thanks for posting, I remember one or two of these from many years ago, when I used to buy the magazine and get inspired by the art. I'm a artist now and getting back into the fantasy art.

  11. I'd like to reiterate some of the above comments - your departure from the GW retinue was truly their loss (and ours!).
And, I'd love to see some of your art available for sale - either originals or prints.
Your gorgeous style has stuck with me for many years, ever since first seeing it in various GW books back in the 80s.
    Thank you for sharing these.
I certainly hope 2016 is proving a better one than the last.
    cheers!

    1. Long time since I've been here Todd thus the delay. 7th? The cyclops? I think it was for White Dwarf. But more info might come from the Facebook fan site that exists [where I 'grabbed' it].

  13. Beautiful work. The Fiend Folio taught me how to draw. I've learned from other artists over the years, but I still recognize your influence on my art. Thank you!
